I am interested in the concepts of identity and personality.  Identity and personality are made up of pieces which are formed, molded, transformed, and manipulated by society and the environment that surrounds us. The different personas that we can choose, adorn, or project are viewed as masks. Each mask is a different character. The mask creates a protective shield against the vulnerability that we feel, while the internal view remains hidden or covered. Confrontation and intimacy are an important aid in releasing, uncovering, and discovering who we are and who we can be. The process of the transfer prints makes each mask so removed from the original image that the mask begins to take over the structure of the face. Within that space, the mask confronts us.
